Background

Shelley J. Godeke joins The Healy+ Group as a Consultant in the Regulatory Compliance practice area. She brings 25 years of higher education experience, with the most recent 9 years focused on Clery Act compliance.

Prior to joining Healy+, Shelley served as the first full time Clery Act coordinator at Baylor University. She was able to use firsthand lessons learned to build a framework, bridge gaps, and institute more efficient compliance training and programs. She also facilitated the development of policy, process, and procedures to create a culture of compliance.

Her career path, while varied, has always centered around higher education constituent services, policing and campus safety.

Prior to serving as the Director of Clery Compliance, she held the role of Assistant Director of Business Auxiliary Services Parking Division for The University of Texas at San Antonio. This further sharpened her ability to render intuitive solutions to constituents and afforded her the opportunity to learn the culture of a fast-paced higher education environment.

Shelley proudly served in several professional capacities for her alma mater, Baylor University, where she earned her BA in Communications.

Shelley takes pride in her ability to offer nuance navigation to fellow colleagues. This navigation requires a ‘boots on the ground’ method of data analysis, self-study assessments, annual fire safety and security report writing, as well as general problem to solution theory and discussion. She finds fulfillment in developing services and a relatable brand through shared experiences that benefit those vested in creating practical compliance programs contributing to overall campus safety.

Most notably, Shelley has a passion for her family and helping others. This is why it brings her great pleasure to assist in identifying and integrating seamless processes. She seeks to provide the kind of solutions that offer smooth business strategy. Shelley believes that to achieve success, institutions must build lasting relationships and implement solid systems that facilitate mission success.
